.  Octavia E. Butler, Kindred, Fledgling, Collected Stories (2020)소설 Kindred, 자전적 에세이 Positive Obsession, 그리고 작가가 되기 위한 요령을 적은 에세이 Furor Scribendi를 재밌게 읽었다. 단편도 Crossover 한 편을 읽었다. 내 생각에도 Kindred은 걸작이다. 작가 Octavia Butler를 알게 되어 기쁘다. 소설 Fledgling, 그리고 다른 단편들과 에세이들은 안 읽기로 한다.  책 겉표지 안쪽에서: An original and eerily prophetic writer, Octavia E. .  Ed Park, "Same Bed Different Dreams" (2023)      Ed Park        N. Y. Times 서평 L. A. .  Janice Y. K. Lee, "The Expatriates" (2016) 뉴욕 타임즈 서평 한국계 미국 작가 Janice Lee의 두 번째 소설이다. 그녀의 데뷰작 The  Piano Teacher (2009)를 8년 전에 읽고서는 그 해 나온 이 책을 이제야 읽었다. 그때 나중에 도서관 책으로 읽으려다 잊은 것 같다. * 한 달 가까이 '임시 보관함'에 있던 걸 이제 옮긴다. 뭘 보탤 것도 없는데, 그냥 잊었던 것 같다.
